27 Jun ZAMCOM CELEBRATES WORLD DRUG DAY
The Zambia Institute of Mass Communication Educational Trust (ZAMCOM) proudly participated in the World Drug Day Family Run/Walk-hosted by the Drug Enforcement Commission (DEC) at Woodlands Stadium in Lusaka. The event was held under the theme “The World Drug Problem-Persisting Issues, New Challenges, and Innovative Responses.”
As a leading media training institution, ZAMCOM joined fellow stakeholders in demonstrating its commitment to raising awareness about the dangers of drug and substance abuse. Through communication, education, and community engagement, the institution continues to support national efforts aimed at promoting informed decision-making, particularly amongst the young people, while encouraging healthier and safer communities.
The Family Run/Walk provided an opportunity to reinforce the importance of collective action in addressing the evolving challenges posed by drug and substance abuse. It also highlighted the vital role that media and communication professionals play in educating the public, shaping positive behavior among community members, and fostering meaningful conversations that inspire lasting change.
ZAMCOM remains committed to supporting initiatives that promote public health, youth empowerment, and responsible citizenship. Together with Government institutions, cooperating partners, and the wider community, we reaffirm our dedication to building a drug-free Zambia through awareness, education, and collaboration.
